From a tent to a showroom
Philip Nyhusmoen started Midnight Sun on his own in 1994 and built it from the ground up. His first showroom was the “famous” tent in Walker, set up behind Liten Hus, his mother Susan’s store. The tent belonged to the world famous Ken Bresley, who made Philip a deal: sell Ken’s fishing lures and supplies on one side of the tent, and Philip could have the other side for hot tubs.
Within weeks, Philip talked Ken into a new deal and the whole tent was a hot tub showroom. The specifics of that deal are sealed and will never be released!
By the fall of 1994 the tent came down, and Philip opened the first Midnight Sun showroom in the spring of 1995. His dad, Pastor Ken, pitched in by hauling hot tubs from Fargo to Walker. His only payment was cups of coffee.
